Betwixtmas with Agatha Christie
The Betwixtmas period between Christmas and New Year, when you are not sure what day it is (and are still working through a mountain of festive cheese), is perfect for reflecting on the year just gone and looking forward to the months ahead.
For book lovers, this means thinking about books read and new literary adventures to come...
In the betwixtmas spirit, I have been looking back at the Agatha Christie gems I have enjoyed for #ReadChristie2024 and anticipating the beauties that will be on my reading pile for the all new theme for #ReadChristie2025 which was announced yesterday! 🎉🎉🎉
2024's theme was a journey through the decades, beginning with Christie's work from 1920s and finishing in 1970s. It is not a way I have ever though of looking at her books before, but was so insightful!
These are the books I read in 2024 - you can find your way to my thoughts about them by clicking on the titles:
1920s - The Mysterious Affair at Styles
1920s - Poirot Investigates
1920s - The Big Four
1930s - The Murder at the Vicarage
1930s - The ABC Murders
1930s - And Then There Were None
1940s - Taken at the Flood
1950s - A Murder is Announced
1950s - Ordeal by Innocence
1960s - Third Girl
1970s - Nemesis
It's CHARACTERS AND CAREERS🎉🎉🎉
This promises to be another fascinating way to explore Christie's mysteries and kicks off in January with ARTISTS as the theme. I am currently deciding between two rereads for this one - Five Little Pigs (the official pick) or The Hollow... decisions, decisions!
