Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling

Read September 2017.

2018 marked the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter book, so I started to re-read some of the books at the end of 2017, having read them first time around with my daughter.
This was a particularly well timed idea, as lots of new readers were picking up the books at School, and it was nice to refresh my mind with the story.

Although I don't think this first book is particularly well written (I have read that Rowling herself has said she would do a better job of it now), there is no doubt that these books have sparked the imaginations of millions of readers over the years and you cannot argue with that.
