There are three books in this YA series, about an alien force taking over Earth:
The 5th Wave
The Infinite Sea
The Last Star
This is a good fun, exciting series for YA readers, and although not as well known as The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins, or the Divergent series by Veronica Roth, it certainly holds up well next to them. No spoilers, but I did not really like the ending though, but that is just me.
