The Time Machine by H.G. Wells

Read April 2018.

Having read The Time Machine years ago, I thought it was about time for a revisit and listened to this one on audio-book. I am a big fan of audio-books, as they allow you to continue enjoying the book experience while getting on with other things.

This is the classic story that launched the career of H.G. Wells, telling the tale of a scientist who invents a machine that can travel in time. In this machine, he travels through time to a future where human life has evolved into two separate species - the docile Eloi and a monstrous underground race called the Morlocks. This is a terrifying future.

Although this book was published in 1895, it still has quite a lot to say about the nature and future of our world today. It is actually pretty philosophical in parts and quite thought provoking.

This is quite a short book, but well worth reading
